However, there are other options and the 'Port-Bus' (see below for more details) makes journeys between the cruise terminals once you arrive at the Pier.

This page covers the various options for transferring from Barcelona Pier to Barcelona Airport. Options include train, coach, bus and taxi.

Minibus from BCN Airport to / from Barcelona Cruise Port

There is a minibus service that operates between Barcelona Airport (both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) and Barcelona Cruise Port. You will need to ensure to reserve this service online before your trip.

Transfer by Train

There are no direct trains from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Pier. Therefore, it is necessary to take a train to Barcelona city centre and then a bus or the Metro to get you near to the Barcelona Pier.

Take the Barcelona Airport Train - The C2 train to Passeig de Gràcia . If you are arriving into Terminal 1 (T1) you will not be able to walk straight to the train station, as it is 4km away. You will need to take a shuttle bus from outside the terminal.

At Passeig de Gràcia you will need to change to the Metro. Once at the metro take the (Green Line, L3) directly to Drassanes. On exiting Drassanes you will see the statue of Columbus ('Colon') directly in front of you. At the other side of this statue you will find the Barcelona Pier, with the World Trade Centre at the end of it. It is possible to catch a Port Bus from Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom) to the various Port Terminals (see below for more details) which you more than likely will need to take because many of the terminals are not walking distance from the Columbus Monument especially with heavy luggage on a hot Spanish day.

If you wish to travel from Barcelona Pier to Barcelona Airport, simply do the reverse of this journey.

Transfer to cruise ship terminals by coach

There are no coaches that run directly from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Pier. However, once you are in Barcelona it is possible to catch a coach from the Columbus Monument (at the bottom of Barcelona Pier) to your particular cruise ship and back again. There are various options for getting to Barcelona City Centre from the Airport - see below for details of travel by train and see below for details of travel by bus.

If you are booked onto a cruise ship from Barcelona Airport, it is possible to catch a coach from Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom) to Terminal A, B, C or D. If you are leaving from the South, North, East or Maremagnum terminals, these are closer to the city centre and can be reached by walking or taxi.

This coach is known as the Port-Bus and is run by the Sarbus company. For more information see the Sarfa Website. This is a short journey and costs a small amount - approximately €2.00 for a one-way ticket and €3.00 for a return.

For more information you can call the company known as Transports Ciutat Comtal - the Port transport system is a separate transport system that that run by the city of Barcelona and is therefore run by a independent company.

Airport to cruise ships by bus

If you would prefer to catch a bus from Barcelona Airport, the airport express bus goes to Plaça Catalunya. From Plaça Catalunya the Barcelona Pier is a twenty minute walk straight down the Ramblas however without luggage this is a long walk down a very busy boulevard and is not recommended. Alternatively, you can take the (Green Line, L3) on the Metro from Plaça Catalunya to Drassanes. From here, the Barcelona Pier is a three minute walk past Columbus Monument to Barcelona Pier from here you can catch the Cruise ship shuttle bus (Blue Bus) to transfer to your specific cruise ship terminal. See the foot of this page for a link for more information on the cruise ship shuttle bus and the cruise ships terminals in general.

The TMB Bus Airport Bus travels to Plaça Espanya. From Plaça Espanya you can take the Metro on the (Green Line, L3) to Drassanes. From Drassanes Metro the pier is a short walk.

Both the Aerobus and the TMB bus are available from outside T1 and T2.

The distance from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Pier is approximately 15.3 km. This will take about twenty minutes in a taxi, costing around €30.00 from T2; From T1 it will take you 25 - 30 minutes and cost around €37.00 .
